Privacy and confidentiality of participant’s information are paramount to Epicare Health Group. We will only collect information necessary for effective service delivery. We will only use information collected for the purpose it was collected and will secure it appropriately.

We will collect, use, and disclose information under relevant state and federal privacy legislation.

Epicare Health Group Management Team will review this policy and procedure annually. This process will include a review and evaluation of current practices and service delivery types, contemporary policy and practice in this clinical area, and the Incident Register. It will incorporate staff, participants, and other stakeholder feedback. Feedback from service users, suggestions from staff and best practice developments will also be used to update this policy.

The Epicare Health Group Continuous Improvement Plan will be used to record and monitor the progress of any improvements, and where relevant, feed into Epicare Health Group service planning and delivery processes

Epicare Health Group is committed to the safety and well-being of all participants. This commitment is the primary focus of our support and decision-making. Epicare Health Group is committed to providing a safe environment where participants are safe and feel safe, and their voices are heard and included in decisions that affect their lives. Attention is paid to the cultural safety of participants from culturally or linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Staff members have a responsibility to understand the critical and specific role they play, both individually and collectively, to ensure the well-being and safety of all participants and young people.

Safe Code of Conduct

Epicare Health Group is committed to the safety and well-being of participants. Our organisation recognises the importance of, and responsibility for, ensuring the environment we provide is safe, supportive and enriching. An environment that respects and fosters the dignity and self-esteem of all people, enabling them to thrive.

This code of conduct aims to protect staff and participants and reduce opportunities for abuse or harm. It also aims to promote understanding of how to avoid or better manage risky behaviours and situations. It's intended to complement child protection legislation, disability legislation, policies and procedures, and professional standards, codes, or ethics as these apply to staff and other personnel.

Our management supports the implementation and monitoring of the Code of Conduct. We will plan, implement, and monitor arrangements for inclusive and safe environments.

All staff, volunteers, and other community members involved in participant-related work must comply with the Code of Conduct by observing expectations for appropriate and acceptable behaviours. The Code of Conduct applies in all situations, including planned activities and the use of digital technology and social media.
